HENRI COANDA HIGH SCHOOL, CRAIOVA, ROMANIA
  • Information and project presentation for the school and the local community 
  • The Dowry Box ( the Ist and the IInd parts ) an educational program developed in order to discover and appreciate the beauty and value of the traditional Romnaian customs.
  • Conciliating meeting with all the schools involved in Socrates programs 
  • Teachers mobilities in Rome ( Italy )  and in Isparta, (Turkey ), including a seminary on “Tolerance in pictures that kids themselves have painted”
  • A partners` common work paper elaboration : a questionnaire for pupils
  • Penfriendship, started between the participant pupils and teachers. The students and the teachers sent letters and Christmas / New Year cards and messages 
  • Two documentation steps : collecting and studying different aspects of local cultural traditions and customs regarding Christmas and Easter
  • Analysis of the results of the documentation steps, by changing information about the chosen celebrations between the participating schools, through CDs and DVDs
  • The European Program “Spring Day in Europe
  • A drawing competition on the title of tolerance and peace
  • The Comenius Day
  • Report about the results of the first year project to the school community and National Agencies

 

 

    GIULIANO DA SANGALLO SCHOOL, ROME, ITALY
    • Questionnaires ( initial- final).
    • Realization of Christmas cards ( Christmas subjects and  views of monuments and places of  Ostia)
    • Exchange of Christmas cards following the arranged programme and correspondence between students in the assigned groups.
    • Research and collection of material about 2 festivities(  Christmas and Carnival) in our area and in Italy.
    • Realization of the of the works on Christmas and Carnival  using Power Point and the English language, as the official language for the project. 
    • Realization of photos, videos, postcards, all related to the study of  Christmas and Carnival traditions and of  Tolerance
    • Preparation of a special edition of the school magazine to cover the two festivities chosen ( Christmas and Carnival ).
    • Folk dancing with  music and regional  dances and performance of the school orchestra at the end of school term. The instruments played were: piano, guitar, violin and flute

    - Little stars for Europe- a contest of the Romanian National Television from Bucharest on Cyprus culture and civilization. The team from Podari won the 1st prize

    -  Friendship Flowers Bridge ( flowers exhibition )

    - Comenius Day : artistic program with poetry, music and dance of “Hands on Europe” participating schools

     

    KAMARES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, LARNAKA, CYPRUS

    Here is the list of activities that we have been engaged in during 2004-2005 :

     

    • 96  6th grade pupils were engaged fully in the programme together with 6 teachers
    • 4 classes of our 6th grade pupils were linked to four different classes from other Comenius partners. They prepared powerpoint presentations which they sent to them at the initial stage, they developed class and private correspondence at a later stage.
    • A programme about folk music, dance and painting was developed by the involved teachers. The programme was printed as a booklet and was given to each pupil (96 booklets). Teaching/discussing the content of the booklet started in early January and ended in mid-April. On the whole an 80-minute period per week was fully devoted for that purpose.
    • Each week a visitor was invited to school to talk about a topic (music/dance/painting)
    • All involved pupils and their teachers paid three study visits to an art gallery and to two centres of folk culture.
    • All involved pupils took part in a drawing competition on the issue of study
    • On the 8th of June we organized a Comenius day. All prepared material and photos were presented to parents and guests. Children presented songs from partner countries as well as plays and songs regarding this year’s project.
    • All of our work was saved on a CD that was given to each pupil. A DVD with all our activities between January and April was prepared and was given to each parner.
    ISTITUTO COMPRENSIVO DI SCOULA MATERNA, ELEMENTARE E MEDIA DI CASTELL`UMBERTO, ITALY

    During the project activities that have taken place within the Italian institution of Castell’Umberto all pupils and staff worked together to the groups of study of the main religious  ceremonies which characterize Christmas and Easter in our country. The younger pupils did little performances, the other interviewed their old relatives about their experiences. All the works , the songs , the poems act and translated had been assembled in some Cds  to be given to the other partners. Pupils worked  to the computers with some different teachers , played and sang old Sicilian songs with the Musician teachers and all staff were employed in the different activities.

    OZEL ALTINBASAK BEDRI AYHAN LISESI, ISPARTA, TURKEY

     

     

    -  We put a link in our web page about Socrates and our project www.altinbasak.k12.tr. (Turkish version)

    -  Questionnaires are applied to the sample   group of pupils. And the results are discussed in the group.

    - Pen friendship has started between the participants pupils. The students sent Christmas and New Year cards.

    - Materials about our religious celebration Ramadan and Kurban   are collected and shared with our partners. Pupils prepared wallpapers in the school. And also P.P. Presentations.

    - All the information that came from the partners were shared with the pupils in our schools multimedia room outside the lessons as comenius activities.

    -  We organized a drawing competition in our local region among 57 primary schools on the title tolerance. (215 pupils entered to it)

    - Our pupils prepared a flash animated presentation about peace.

    - Our pupils prepared a poster for our project meeting. It was given to the participants during the project meeting in Isparta

    -  Our materials and those from our partners were exhibited in our conference hall during our second project meeting at May 4-9-2005.Many students and teachers from different schools visited these exhibition. It was written in the local newspapers as “Teachers from  Romania, Italy ,Cyprus and Turkey  are here for the tolerance and peace”

    -  At the end of the year we had a Comenius night in which our parents and local guest saw our pupils’ and partners works.

    - During 15-22 June our pupils had a Rome visit in order to share the collected materials .

    -  We  published  a school magazine in our local region to disseminate  (5000 pieces) our Comenius activities .

     

    THE PROJECT FLAG

    Suggested by the pupils fromComenius team from Craiova, Romania, the flag gathers traditional decorative motifs from all the involved countries. It symbolizes "UNITY IN DIVERSITY".
